Club Philosophy

Cerritos United Soccer Club (CUSC) is a non-profit 501 (c) organization dedicated to youth soccer.

We form teams for players between the ages of 8 and 19 that compete in the Coast Soccer League, one of the largest and most competitive youth leagues in the country. Our goal is to provide top-level players and their families in and around Cerritos, Lakewood, La Palma, Long Beach and Los Angeles and Orange County with the opportunity to play the highest level of soccer available in Southern California in a stable, nurturing environment.

We are a soccer community within which a player is encouraged to find the most appropriate environment given his or her desired level of competitiveness, commitment and intensity. We view our club and teams as vehicles for player development, and believe that our focus on the individual player will produce winning teams where success is measured in more than victories on the field.

We seek committed players whose primary extracurricular activity is playing high-level soccer. At the same time, we emphasize both athletic and academic excellence and strive to help our players develop into well-rounded young adults. We recognize the importance of helping our players play soccer as long as possible, because soccer can teach them valuable life lessons that extend far beyond the field.

The Club’s success has been evidenced by the development of its players, the competitive records of its teams, its ability to attract the talent in the region, and the matriculation of its players to top Universities developmental  academies, Olympic development programs (ODP)
